Vanilla is probably one of the most uncommon snus flavors on the market today. The only company that makes a vanilla snus product anymore is GN Tobacco with their Oden’s Vanilla flavor. It comes in quite a few shades, strengths, and formats, but today we have one of the stronger variants on hand: Oden’s Vanilla Extreme White Dry. I first encountered this one back in 2011 when it launched in a smaller market.
Fast forward to 2016, GN Tobacco released it on a larger scale and it’s still around today 8 years later! In the world of snus, if a product lasts that long, that means it must be pretty popular. So, if you’re ready to get acquainted with this snus, let’s get to know it better!

The product description for this one says, easily enough, “a taste of vanilla”. Opening up the can, you’re probably thinking, “wait, I thought this was a white dry product?”. I’ll explain. The vanilla flavor is an interesting one. Whenever you add vanilla flavoring to a product, it can tend to turn the portions brown over time. This isn’t a change in the moisture.
While it may look brown like an original portion, it’s actually still a white dry product. It’s just brown because of the vanilla flavoring. Each can weighs 16 grams, and contains 20 portions. This means the portions weigh in at 0.8 grams each. The nicotine content sits at 22mg/g. With 0.8 gram portions, this means you’ll get 17.6mg of nicotine per portion, putting this one at the extra strong level.
In the aroma of this one, I find it to be a slightly perfumey aroma of vanilla. It’s mild in nature, and lightly sweet. The portions, as mentioned above, come in the white dry format. This means they’re slightly dryer to the touch, and under the lip. They may be stiff at first, but as the pouch gets more moist under the lip, you’ll find it softens up, gets more comfortable, and releases more flavor. The flavor of this one, similar to the aroma is vanilla. It’s a mild, semi-sweet taste of vanilla.
I do notice it to have an almost perfumey aspect to it, as I picked up in the aroma. The nicotine strength on this one is rather strong, feeling at, or above, the extra strong level. It depends on if I’ve eaten recently, but on an empty stomach this one has quite a kick to it! The flavor longevity is also quite impressive, lasting well over an hour due to the white dry format. This is a benefit of white dry snus, you always get a long lasting taste.
Snubie’s Final Thoughts
If you like vanilla, your options in the world of snus are very, very limited. This is the only one. You can get in other formats and strengths, so it depends on what you’re really looking for as to which one of these you’ll use. It’s hit and miss, some love it, some don’t. It’s really one you have to try for yourself to see what you think.
For me, it’s not bad. It’s not a favorite, but it’s not awful. It’s right there in the middle for me. I don’t really use a lot of vanilla products though, so I suggest checking it out to see what you think of it!
